“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength, and love your neighbour as yourself.”
This is one of my favourite passages of scripture – it speaks to me every time I hear it – it reminds me that I am called to a wholehearted commitment to Christ. And yet so often I water that down!
What might wholehearted commitment look like for me today? It is surely to be found in the ‘facts’ of my life – in the way I respond to the people I meet, in the witness I give in everyday ways to Gospel values, in the choices I make for justice…
This week I have the privilege of accompanying people during a retreat. It is incredible to listen and witness to the action of God in their lives, to hear them speak of their desire to live God’s will in their lives. May that inspiration be a catalyst for change in my own life, deepening in me my own desire to live my relationship with Christ to the full.
God is surely active – may we each respond generously!
