CHOOSE THE LOWEST PLACE

Today’s Gospel (Luke 14:1, 7-11) is a good one for me on days like this when I am travelling. It reminds me to let things be and not to let irritation get the better of me when people jump the queue to check in or when things don’t go according to plan. When I prayed on this Gospel this morning it seemed to be saying to me don’t be pushy – don’t insist on ‘taking your place’ or on being seen or on having your opinion heard or on things going your way. I have brought that Gospel to mind several times today and it has enabled me to be at peace when things have been a little testing. Isn’t it amazing how very relevant the Gospels always are?
