I WAS A STRANGER

by

Day after day the sight of thousands upon thousands of refugees arriving in Europe continues to call to us to open our hearts and to create safe and welcoming places for all those involved in this great exodus. How dare we refuse and still claim to bear the name of Christ? We can all do something and I hope and pray that we will each do what we can for our sisters and brothers so desperately fleeing their homelands in search of safety. I am in England for my holiday – I am not forced to carry a few precious possessions and seek a new home. I will make different choices on this holiday, and hopefully, from now on. May I use this time to give expression to the call to action that echoes within me.
