THE HARVEST IS PLENTY BUT THE LABOURERS ARE FEW!

by

The Gospel reading for today, Thursday September 30th is taken from Luke 10:1-12.  In this passage Jesus sends out seventy two disciples, in pairs, to go and preach that the Kingdom of God is very near.  Jesus sent out disciples in his own lifetime and right to this present day he has continued to send women and men to bring the Gospel of life to others.  Disciples of Jesus are needed as much today as ever…and Jesus continues to call…”Come be my disciples…”

Jesus continues to call women to be his faithful companions…

Let us pray that the Lord of the harvest will send labourers into the harvest…

I am both praying for vocations to flourish in our wonderful little Society and also giving thanks for all the great women who are already part of it… both past and present.

  2. John Gardiner Says:

    Thanks Claire and Lynn

It seems like winter with vocations and life in the Church here in the West. However Christ is always with us and the spring always follows winter.

The FCJs are specifically in our prayers each day when Susan and I read the Office.

    God bless

    John

    Dear John,
Thank you for your comments and for your prayers – we keep you in our prayers too…May we all work together to bring out that sense of Spring in the Church and in our world!
