Preparing for Christmas

by

Here in England I always think that the preparations for Christmas are fairly frenetic and it is difficult to avoid all the rush and bustle.
On Saturday I was out in the snow buying the Christmas tree, dropping off a hamper of food to a family we know, and generally doing some lovely Christmas things. Later in the day we were talking about some of the people we had met… just good, ordinary, people, all trying their best to make things nice for their families… people working hard to earn a bit more before Christmas. It is good to try to have a calm and reflective Advent, but there is certainly something very good about the interactions and fun of the hustle and bustle too!
